When I Grow Up

When I grow up
I want to be a writer,
of big and important things.

I will change the world, with what I have to say.

When I grow up
I will make the world a better place,
with my metaphors about the human race.

I will challenge the world, with what I have to say.

When I grow up
I will give the nation a second chance,
to make things better than ever before.

I will embrace the world, with what I have to say.

But until I grow up
there's nothing much I can do,
about all the problems the world has to face.

So I will sit just outside the world, saying nothing at all.


A 28 year old apathetic
